Anthony Attalla - Dope Rope |
Proton Limited is proud to have Anthony Attalla bring a rugged tech-house jam falling into techno here and there. The original mix will bring a crowd to a frenzy with its hard stabs, loopy rhythms, and intense arrangement. This creative gem should not be overlooked. Discount Rhinos brings a techno monster to the table. Dark driving beats and creeping low end lead to a techno stormer on the backend. Rasmus takes his techno mix to the other side of the spectrum with intense change-ups and hard sounds. The final mix comes from the Roaches (aka Nathan Baraton & Carlo Lio) that is a tech-house number with a deep bassline that will be felt on the other side of the club, and utilizes the samples of the original with ease and simplicity. Truly a complimenting package of remixes that will bring people to the floor at any time of the night. |

Anthony Attalla |

Born into a large family of seven, there was always a need to stand out from the crowd in order to be heard and seen in the Attalla household, and Anthony had no problem rising to the challenge at a very young age. Being the youngest, he was always the “family entertainment” with his contagious, outgoing personality, frequently performing comedy acts, reciting scenes from movies and even reenacting popular television commercials. Consequently, it was no surprise to his parents and siblings when he picked up his first set of turntables and informed them of his dream to perform in front of the masses. Opting to sneak into warehouse raves and underground parties instead of high school dances, Anthony found intrigue and mystery in a new form of music that was not readily accessible in the small suburb of Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up. This infusion of electronic rhythms combined with the subconscious influence of artists such as Marvin Gaye, Smokie Robinson, Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Kraftwerk, Nirvana, and Smashing Pumpkins infused Anthony’s eclectic view and appreciation of all forms of music. This love for such a wide array of musical genres gave him the ambition to approach his craft with an open mind, knowing anything was possible. After a year of surreptitiously practicing in his basement, Anthony secured his first gig at a well-known dance club in Cleveland (Spy) on New Years Eve 2002. After his eye-opening performance, the club immediately requested Anthony as its Saturday night resident. Within six months he was ..... read more |

Whether you are on the dance floor or within earshot of him, his sound and the vibe are unmistakable. Many have said, they know it is Lance playing as soon as they enter a room. Why is that? It’s simple. The music he plays gives off a particular feeling that only he can construct. His main intention is to connect with the listener, be it through a DJ experience or something that finds its way out of his Fort Worth-based studio. Music is the foundation on which Lance communicates. Through building bridges musically for over ten years, he has made life-long friends and won a loyal following worldwide. |

The Roaches (aka Nathan Barato & Carlo Lio)
Nathan Barato In a time of DJ saturation, it is refreshing to see an artist talk the talk and walk the walk. Not only an accomplished Club selector, with the inception of Rawthentic Music (alongside new label partner and great friend, Carlo Lio), he adds producer and label manager to the repertoire. But Nathans love affair with the beat happened long before this. 1994, was the year that saw Nathans fascination with the cool stuff you could do with records become an actual paying endeavor. In the guise of a high school formal, Barato ran the musical gamut; from slow jams to hip hop and back again. Truly a music man, his no genre left unturned attitude, keeps him versatile and adept as an electronic music artist. To add credo to his storied beginnings, Nathan also found time to work in the local record hot spot, Traxx; as well as become head music buyer for global music peddlers Fully Loaded Distribution. Although a product of the garage/house music scene, Nathans encompassing music style eclipses any definition. Having graced the decks at almost every reputable club in the city, Baratos residencies now include The Gallery (Guvernment), Comfort Zone, Footwork and This Is London. His seamless ability to create a story through music has seen his inclusion in numerous electronic showcases like The Guvernments annual Labour of Love, and most recently Global Gatherings Sundance Music Festival in Montreal and Darko & Migz events in Malta. Nathan understands the power of the dance floor and to pay attention to its urges and its wants. "Programming and control is my number one concern. Mixing is important but nothing is more important than the music. He has played alongside the likes of heavyweights Roger Sanchez, Louie Vega, Hector Romero, Green Velvet, Sandy Rivera, Deep Dish, Max Graham, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha and Steve Lawler; just to name a few! You can soon expect a slew of releases on Rawthentic Music from a plethora of great artists, including Carlo Lio, DJ Simi & Masterkeys, The Junkies & Nathan himself. With the future of the Canadian scene growing stronger, it is no question Nathan Barato stands poised and ready to usher in the next wave of Canadian electronic music. Carlo Lio If music is the Universal language then Toronto Native, Carlo Lio is surely multilingual. It is this universal appeal that has allowed Carlo to speak to so many people without ever having to say a word. His ability to capture sounds and emit them so expressively is a gift. Music has always been a priority in Carlo’s life; anyone who witnesses him gracing the decks can attest to this. Carlo can turn a careful observer into a dancer through the raw emotion and passion in his music. Music is a language; it is a means of connectivity, intimacy and communication and Carlo has brilliantly captured and shared this with his fans. As a DJ, producer: & businessman. His continued efforts both in and out of the booth have paid off. Teaming up with studio partner Nathan Barato to create Rawthentic Music, Carlo has been pounding out numerous quality hits which have received plenty of local & International support. His unique signature style that’s driven by a relentless, sexy, hypnotic, techy groove is sure to leave you mesmerized. With his flawless and imaginative mixing and his mind-blowing programming, Carlo preaches a gospel of repetitive beats. His fast, deep pulsing tech-house, or groovy, chuggy minimal are inspirational and he credits his latest sound to three of his most current influences; Mastiksoul, Marco Carola and Loco Dice.
